About me

Hi!
My name is Barbara Ramsey and I am a licensed therapist ( License number 44SC01482000). Welcome to the on-line counseling room, which will be our private, secure place to communicate. You can enter this room from any internet connected device wherever you are.

Thanks for taking the time to read my profile. I'm a nurse and clinical social worker with a masters degree from Rutgers University. I have worked in the hospital and home care but most of my professional career has been as a psychotherapist.

When someone starts counseling with me, I try to get to know them and, at the same time, help them cope with their immediate problems. I'm a good listener and easy to talk to. My years of experience have given me perspective. I try to notice patterns and sensitivities and reflect these back to my clients. Considering a member's values, hopes and dreams help us shape goals and support is given along the way. By seeing how things can get better, stress is reduced and clearer thinking results.
I hope that you are interested in working with me. Let's start helping you feel better.

To help us get started, please tell me what brought you here. Just a few short sentences that describe the challenges you are facing and what you would like to talk about. It will help me know what you are going through and we'll schedule a live session to go on from there.
I am looking forward to working with you.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Barbara Ramsey. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Barbara is one of the first therapists to make me believe in the benefit of therapy. I’ve always liked the idea of therapy and how it’s a safe, open, and confidential space to express your inner thoughts and feelings. However, I was never able to find a therapist that I connected with or could maintain a consistent relationship with. Barbara kept up with me on a weekly basis, responded to my messages, and provided that safe space for me to open up about the things I needed to talk through week after week. Before I knew it, I began to experience the benefits of therapy, receiving empathy, guidance, and clarity.

Barbara listens to me and gives me new ways of looking at things, which is really helpful. She really cares and she is very easy to talk to. She encourages me in my faith and that means a lot to me. She is exactly what I was hoping to find when I signed up for therapy.

Very helpful

She is kind, shares thoughtful insight and has made it comforter to talk about uncomfortable things. She feels like a aunt I can tell anything to. It’s refreshing to have someone who can be non-bias and genuinely wants to hear and help you.

I really enjoy talking with my therapist and trust her as a person, Barbara is caring and has clinical experience in many fields. I feel that my concerns and frustrations with my complicated grief ( my term for it) are heard. Barbara is very patient and kind and a great listener. I'm grateful for her and for Better help and it's also nice to see someone's smiling face online on a video call or on your phone video call, rather than just a phone conversation. It's a nice human to human contact. I'd recommend Barbara Ramsey to anyone who needs to sort of there thoughts. It does help to be heard by a kind human being.
